2007 -- Present

Computer Engineer
Conduct software security testing for AF Certification and placement on the AF Evaluated/Approved Products List.
  • Setting up clean Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC) image (Vista and Windows 7)
  • Utilizing protocol analyzer to determine software's network traffic
  • Using and writing tools to capture the before and after installation states of the SDC image
  • In depth analysis to determine risk to the network and make recommendations to the AF Certifying Authority
Help to achieve total enterprise optimization, integration, and implementation of full spectrum "infostructure" capabilities, (including voice, data, video, and information services) by assisting to develop:
  • AF NetOps Implementation Plan
  • Infrastruture Transformation Architecture
  • Combat Information Transport System (CITS) Capability Development Document (CDD)
  • Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Joint/Coalition networking solutions
Required products include Use Cases, Domain, Node, and Program-level architecture products developed in accordance with the DoD Architecture Framework and industry best practices. Specific products include:
  • Operational Rules Models (OV-6a) for Integrated Network Operations and Security Centers (I-NOSCs);

Senior Telecommunications Engineer
Contracted to manage and staff the Alternate Network Operations Center for the Department of Defense voice, data and video network. Top Secret clearance – October 12, 2006.
  • System administration on Sun Solaris and HP UX including software updates, patch installation, hardware & software troubleshooting, security upgrades, backups, and user maintenance.
  • Perform all required server/router upgrades including installation of patches, data backups and database management
  • Monitor and manage the Cisco 7513, 2600, 2502 router network using HP OpenView and Cisco’s CiscoWorks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair circuit outages, as well as server hardware and software
  • Interact with long distance carriers and primary Network Operations Center to maintain circuit availability of 99%
  • As Facility Manager, ensure servers, workstations, software packages, router, data and voice circuits, CSU/DSU’s, telephones, lights, air conditioning, and power are fully operational
  • Monitor and manage DOD Tellabs Titan 5500 bandwidth mangers and DMS 100 data switches using vendor supplied software

Contracted to implement a standards-based LAN for data and telecommunications infrastructure architectures for medical facilities throughout the United States Air Force.
  • System Administrator of Windows NT 3.51 network supporting a medical testing facility of 60 users
  • Supervised five man engineering team to design backbone and horizontal cabling, network IP assignments, and conducted quality assurance of routers, Ethernet switches, unshielded twisted pair hubs, and bridges.

Technical Services Manager and Systems Administrator
Help Desk supervisor and member of a team contracted to manage the information systems for RALCORP (human foods side of Ralston Purina).
  • System administrator for SCO UNIX, Novell 3.11, and Novell 4.02 systems supporting a network of 250 users
  • Supervisor of fifteen person help desk on site at RALCORP
  • Hands-on installation of network routers, hubs, workstations and servers; installation and configuration of applications and communications software.
  • Utilized CAD software to produce wiring diagrams and systems documentation.
